A jury in the third Feeding Our Future trial has found the sole defendant guilty. Muna Wais Fidhin was charged with three counts of wire fraud, four counts of federal programs bribery and three counts of money laundering. One count of money laundering was dropped, the U.S. Attorney s Office told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. According to court documents, Fidhin enrolled her company M5 Cafe in the Federal Child Nutrition Program under the sponsorship of Feeding Our Future. She also created a nonprofit called M5 Care and enrolled it in the program under another sponsor in 2021. In total, Fidhin claimed to have served more than 300,000 meals at her two sites and said she had about $1 million in funds from the program. Prosecutors say she also wired thousands of dollars out of the country and paid $27,000 in kickbacks to a Feeding Our Future employee in exchange for submitting fraudulent claims.
